GBC a.m. - 100 years, Stampede Centennial Celebration - why it's important for business & community

Calgary Stampede is celebrating its Centennial in 2012 and plans are well underway to showcase Alberta to the world. Tens of thousands of tourists from around the world are expected to visit Calgary during this time. To fully capitalize on this opportunity a number of special projects are being planned including those focused on business.

Calgary Economic Development, through its Global Business Centre is pleased to welcome Deanne Carson, Vice President of Marketing and External Relations at the Calgary Stampede, as the featured speaker at GBC a.m. in November.

Ms. Carson will speak about what it takes to plan and execute a once-in-a-lifetime celebration, why it is important for business and community and what we can expect in 2012. This event is a MUST for marketing and meeting professionals and will offer a unique opportunity to learn about the event branding and awareness building strategies and techniques.

About the speaker:
Deanne Carson joined the Calgary Stampede on July 11, 2011 as Vice President Marketing and External Relations. Deanne is responsible for Marketing and Corporate Communications across the Stampede organization including brand and reputation management, stakeholder relations, and revenue generation during the annual 10-day Stampede in July. Deanne brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to her position and is the co-executive sponsor for the 2012 Centennial celebrations.
